SPAD REASSIGNS BNR BUS ROUTES 501, 540, 570 and T571 FOR SUNGAI BESI CORRIDOR EFFECTIVE APRIL 7, 2016
The reassignment exercise will also affect routes 502 and 541. 

Kuala Lumpur, 6 April 2016 – The Suruhanjaya Pengangkutan Awam Darat (SPAD) will reassign four bus routes in the Sungai Besi Corridor to raise service level for commuters in the affected areas. This reassignment is part of the Commission’s ongoing improvement efforts to stabilise bus services under the Bus Network Revamp (BNR). 

The move to reassign these routes comes after SPAD’s assessment of the current bus operator, Metrobus who failed to comply with minimum standards set by the Commission under the BNR exercise. The reassigned routes are as follows: 

  1. Route 501 (Putrajaya Sentral – KTM Serdang – HAB Lebuh Pudu) will be operated by Nadi Putra. The operating hours is from 6:00am until 11:00pm with a frequency of every 30 minutes.
     
  2. Route 540 (Bandar Putra Permai – HAB Lebuh Pudu) will be operated by RapidKL. The operating hours is from 6:00am until 11:30pm with a frequency of every 15 minutes.
     
  3. Route 570 (Serdang Jaya – Serdang Raya – LRT Bukit Jalil) will be operated by RapidKL. The operating hours is from 6:00am until 11:00pm with a frequency of every 30 minutes.
     
  4. Route T571 (Taman Sri Pulai – Stesen LRT Sungai Besi) will be operated by RapidKL. The operating hours is from 6:00am until 11:00pm with a frequency of every 45 minutes.
     

Two other routes which will be affected by this reassignment are Route 502 and Route 541 which will be as follows: 

  1. Route 502 which plied from Putrajaya Sentral – KTM Serdang will merge with Route 501 (Putrajaya Sentral – KTM Serdang – HAB Lebuh Pudu) and be renumbered as Route 501. This route will be operated by Nadi Putra with operation hours from 6.00am until 11.00pm with a frequency of 30 minutes.
     
  2. Route 541 (Pangsapuri Enggang – Bandar Putra Permai – KTM Serdang) will be realigned to serve Kinrara BK5 LRT station. The newly realigned route will run from Kinrara BK5 LRT station- Pangsapuri Enggang- Bandar Putra Permai and continue to be operated by RapidKL. The operating hours is from 6.00am until 11.00pm with a frequency of 30 minutes.
     

SPAD would like to assure the public that various proactive measures is being taken to resolve all operational issues under the Bus Network Revamp (BNR) initiative in a timely manner. SPAD is also monitoring all bus operators through the Global Positioning System (GPS) as well as deploying officers on the ground to ensure that bus services are at its optimum level.
